Code of Conduct and Professional Behaviour

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to set clear expectations for professional behaviour, integrity, and conduct among all staff, instructors, assessors, and representatives of Easy2Swim Swimming Academy.

It ensures that all employees act responsibly, ethically, and in a manner that upholds the reputation and values of the organisation, while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all learners and colleagues.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All staff, contractors, volunteers, and instructors representing Easy2Swim
  • All interactions with learners, parents, colleagues, and the wider community
  • All activities conducted on-site, online, or at external venues on behalf of Easy2Swim

3. Policy Statement

Easy2Swim Swimming Academy expects all team members to demonstrate professionalism and integrity in everything they do. We believe that our conduct reflects directly on the quality of our teaching, our commitment to safety, and our reputation as a trusted swim school.

4. Expected Standards of Behaviour

All Easy2Swim staff and representatives must:
  • Act professionally and respectfully toward all learners, parents, and colleagues
  • Promote equality and inclusion in every lesson and interaction
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries — especially when working with children or vulnerable adults
  • Uphold confidentiality and comply with the POPIA Data Protection Policy
  • Arrive punctually and prepared for all classes, meetings, and training sessions
  • Dress appropriately in Easy2Swim uniform or other professional attire suitable for aquatic environments
  • Communicate clearly and positively, avoiding any behaviour that could be seen as aggressive, discriminatory, or unprofessional
  • Report health and safety concerns immediately to the Centre Co-ordinator
  • Refrain from gossip, personal disputes, or negative comments about colleagues, learners, or management — including on social media
  • Avoid conflicts of interest in line with the Easy2Swim Conflict of Interest Policy

5. Interaction with Learners and Parents

Staff must always:
  • Treat learners with dignity and respect
  • Never engage in any form of physical punishment, inappropriate touch, or offensive language
  • Maintain a professional distance and avoid favouritism
  • Communicate openly and transparently with parents and guardians
  • Ensure that all feedback and discipline are constructive and focused on learning outcomes

7. Disciplinary Action

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in:
  • Verbal or written warnings
  • Suspension or termination of employment or contract
  • Referral to STA or relevant authorities in serious cases

Disciplinary procedures will always follow fair and transparent processes.

8. Reporting Concerns
